While Geoman has been great about returning a MagicShine light which stopped working (bad connector) it appears my second light also has an intermittent connection. I can generally twist the barrel to make the light work but it is less obvious when I am charging correctly and I’m concerned that the connector will finally fail.

I’m thinking about cutting the cable and replacing the stock connectors with something more reliable. I did a little internet searching and came up with the following from Enercall connector Radioshack:

I suspect this is about as waterproof as the MS connector and much more reliable. Has anyone else found a better connector?

Thanks, Scott

I am a big fan of this one (http://www.bikeforums.net/;http://www.batteryspace.com/connectoradaptoronepairtwopinslockableconnectorwith8coilcord.aspx) from batteryspace:

It is "waterproof", keyed, very secure and the cable coiling has some decent give. It is a little thick though, so it is not the most flexible.

I have used the one you have selected from Radioshack for my 12V 10 Watt Halogen as a replacement when the battery connector went bad on my NightHawk light set (BAttery fell off and broke). It works fine and has been reliable.

Mine is flaking out too. I'm going to switch to the trailer connector the OP shows. It's what I used on my DIY halogen setup when I built it 5 years ago, it's what I switched my BatterySpace HID/Trailtech system to when the factory connectors failed. That connector JUST WORKS. It's durable as hell; if you started beating on a lighting system with a hammer, that connector would definitely be the last thing to fail.
