Started road biking recently, but that has renewed my interest in mtn biking. Would like to revive my mtn bike to ridable condition because no money left for new mtn bike.
It's a 97 Marin Juniper Trail with an excellent condition Manitou SX fork; but the elastomers are too spongy and they are no longer supporting this fork or offering elastomer replacements. I think it's 1-1/8".
So, you can see, any technology 97-forward will likely suit my purpose. Lots of possibilities here - buy/trade forks probably. Preferably NO elastomers, and excellent condition. Perhaps someone out there has a gently used 98 or 99 fork that has seriously depreciated due to age, but is in top condition (like mine).
Or maybe I can find a lower end new fork that performs at least as well as my fork did new.
