Unlike today (rain) Saturday was absolutely gorgeous. My Wife/stoker for reasons buried in the female psyche has been wanting to do more climbing. We rode with only a bit of walking a local hill as a test ride for an upcoming century that includes this climb. We learned a few things: need a 34t cog, shouldn't do the century 'cause there is another bad climb in addition to this one, I hate downhills during a climb, pictures of your truly are too ugly to post, definitely need a super-light tandem when I retire in a few years. I'm very proud of my wife for the effort, but without a lower gear we have to stop every couple of miles to get my HR down. Temps were probably high 40's at the start, mid-50's finish; ideal cycling weather.

Dctiller,
You're thinking of Cienega Road south of town. The picture was taken about 3/4 of the way up Dunne Ave. in Morgan Hill on the way down from Henry Coe park. Cienega is a nice 30 mile loop if you start from one of the parking lots in the Safeway/Nob Hill/Kmart area. Freemont Peak between San Juan Batista and Hollister is a climb similar to Coe, but without the short downhills on the way up.
