BMX - Firebird Freestyler, anybody know much about them?

Hi all, I'm building a nos DP racing Firebird freestyler, (1983 model), using period parts, does anybody know these bikes well / or headsets?
The thing is I've tried a 1" headset, (the cups seem far too small for the frame), a 1"1/8 (the cups are too large for the frame), has anybody had a similar dilemma? Cheers

contact them, they may know more, all I know about it is that it was a limited edition to the DP lineup, I believe it could be a 1 1/8 but I'm probably wrong on this one.
great find!!

I've got it guys! Found a build spec on a US website? (DP Racing was based in N Wales), it stated a Tioga beartrap 2 headset was fitted, I managed to get one of these, and it fits!!! Still no idea what size it is, but not that critical now, just need to find a bearing race for my rear Tuff II. Thanks

The Tioga Beartrap 2 is 1" - I think I still have a couple of them around.
