Introductions - Newb from AZ

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to everyone. My name is Greg and I live in AZ. I have lived a few places in the Phoenix area as well as Flagstaff, Los Angeles, and Colorado Springs. I have ridden 5 or 6 double centuries and a lot of other epic rides. I have also raced in the Tour de Phoenix and the Tour of the Tucson Mountains in years past. My first son was born almost a year ago, and while his Mom was pregnant, I packed on quite a few pounds, but I am no trying to ramp up my miles again and get my fat arse back into shape!! I have been reading a lot of BF threads lately, and finally decided to "take the plunge" and introduce myself. I look forward to getting involved with some of the Road Cycling threads and being part of all that is BF!

Welcome. Im a newb to the forum as well. And yes, this is a great way to lose the pounds.
What kind of bike do you have? I do South Mountain every Saturday and Sunday that I can. I love it. Once Again, welcome.

Hey JronaTrek! Thanks for the welcome and welcome to you too! I ride a 2000 Giant TCR which was bright yellow, but I had it stripped, polished, and clear coated so it is shiny aluminum now! South Mtn is a good ride I haven't gotten back to doing much climbing yet. I did ride in a GABA ride a couple months ago that went up by Seven Springs that gave my legs quite a toasting.

Thanks and thanks for the link! I actually rode the Bartlett road during a "Safety Ride" a few years ago. We took a bunch of guys new to riding on the road with us, and by the time we got back up to the top of the Bartlett road they were all blown. I remember hurting pretty bad myself...
