I am going to buy a new crankset, with chainrings, i am running a 24/34/bash, however i was wondering instead of getting the same could i get a 22/32/bash would this have an effect on my gears or would it make no difference

I run a single front, going 2 teeth up (38) moved my main drive to the mid of my rear cluster. (one cog, to run a straight chainline.)

The wise ones say 2 t front equals 1 tooth rear. I did notice a small dif, mostly when spinning the little cog, a mph or 3.

If you really having a time getting uphill, like you have a 35+lbs bike-ya.

The riders I know who DH, most run 34, not shure of the t-count on the granny.

You can calculate the "gear inches" of any combination, to allow direct comparison.
(Front teeth/rear teeth) x wheel diam.

Wheel diameter is there for comparison with other bikes. Use 26" as a rough figure.
