New to the forum.....

Looking for places in and around SJ to MTB after it rains. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to ride that wont be too wet after the rains. Or even places that stay open after it rains. I typically ride Santa Teresa Park, Big Basin, and Saratoga Gap.

Thanks,
Dan

Riding on wet trails is pretty destructive...and therefore often frowned upon by the regulars. Tread lightly please.

Find a place with fire roads. They drain and dry pretty quick - especially the ones on south-facing slopes.

I'm sure you'll get good answers here, but you might get your answer and more at mtbr. (http://forums.mtbr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=67)

Exactly why I wanted input on where to ride after it rains. I have seen the effects of riding singletrack and even fire roads during and after heavy rain. I was in a 24 hour ride up in Cool in which it rained the entire time. They didnt call off the event and it ruined the trail. Sure it took a lot of work to get it back to where it was before the race.

DCTILLER--Thanks for the input, I will check out Skeggs when it dries up. Sounds like it would be a fun afternoon outing.

Ben-- I will take a look at mtbr too....thanks!

Sandstone trails of on west side of Skeggs should be OK. I went down Resolution in rain a few times. Demo seems to hold up well too under the canopy.
