Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Howzit Guys,
Tomorrow i'm buying some RST HI-5s forks, only costings me £10 so might as well.
Can anyone give me their opinons on these forks?

They are RST...they are worth what you are paying for them.

I don't know he might make a good lamp out of it and sell it to some schmuck and make a couple Quid out of it.
Do you think it would be worth my while to save up and get better forks?, triple clamp ones, if so which forks?, don't want anything too expensive mind you.
Thanks.

Okay, don't listen to these haughty-taughty guys with their $1500 forks :). Depending on what you're planning on using it for, the RST fork may be fine. I have an RST Gila TL on my hardtail, and it does a perfectly serviceable job for my XC riding. At the very least, you can't go wrong at 10 pounds so long as it hasn't been abused. The reviews on mtbr.com (http://www.mtbreview.com/reviews/Front_Shock/product_21558.shtml) are up and down. I think the point is that you just can't expect them to perform like high-end forks because they're not.
I know, i don't expect them to proform like high end forks, however i'm going to be doing a few jumps on them, but at 10 punds, if i mess them up or they really are crap, then oh well not too bothered. ;)
Thanks for the advice!

Hey I wasn't knocking them. Well I sort of was. But you do get what you pay for with an rst. It is an adequate fork.
BTW all of my forks come well under 1000$ cdn :D
Got forks today, they are fitted now, and hey look nice, and seem quite nice loving them, will take it for a test tomorrow. :)

........rst single crowns are FIIIIINE....My bussy who rides urban (well) uses them as a bckup if his dj 2's are broken. Get a good hardtail......will be stronger/more reliable than that, and you will have a better time possibly
