Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hey guys,
I wanted to get some toe clips for a Diamondback Outlook - it still has the pedals it came with. But I don't see any kind of holes in them that would allow me to screw on the clips. On each side of the pedal there is a little reflector, and that is held in place by a little housing that the reflector slides in and out of.
It seems like there's no good way to put on the clips, but will I cause any problems if I just screw them on? The pedals look like they're made of some hardened rubber. Or should I get new pedals?
I had thought that toe clips would fit on any pedal, that's not so?

You need pedals that are shaped much like this

although without the latching mechanism for cleats.
If the front and rear halves if the pedal look like solid rubber blocks, they arent designed to take toeclips, but I dont think you would have any problems if you used wood screws to put them on, after taking off the front reflector.

Remove reflectors?
I couldn't put clips on the stock pedals that came with my Trek 7300 (hybrid). I ended up buyind a cheap set of mountain bike pedals, removed the front reflector, and bolted them on.
Can you mount toeclips by removing the front reflector and drilling a couple of holes? I have used this trick on numerous pedals.

Usually when you remove the front reflector, you reveal the holes by which you mount the clip. Actually, the reflector and the clip usu. mount through the same holes, and if the reflector is the kind with threaded studs, you can use it, and its nuts, to hold the clip.
