Hi Guys
have following parts for my bike
Campagnolo Mirage 9 speed ergo shifters
9 speed cassette
Looking to fit a mirage rear derailleur, problem is i'm struggling to find a 9 speed derailleur
Can a ten speed derailleur be used with 9 speed shifters and 9 speed cassette?

It will, if the shifters are 2001 or newer. If not, then the cable pull won't be quite right. The older shifters pull more cable than needed.

Hi dave, thats great thanks :)

Bit of an update, I won a ten speed record mech last night ( think its form around 2007 has the carbon cage) , been thinking will I run into issues with chain width? i.e will my 9 speed chain be to wide to fit in the mech properly? would a ten speed chain solve the problem?
Just buy a set of 9 sp pulleys and screws. You need the screws because they're longer to accommodate the wider spacers used the 9 sp pulleys. Ebay is full of Mirage & Veloces 9 sp rear mech's/derailleurs. Good luck
