Bicycle Mechanics - Question about a wh-7700 wheelset - replacement rims?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I've been looking around and don't see anywhere where you can get replacement rims for these - is there any aftermarket rim you can lace up to replace a rim if you have the hub/spokes?

Spokes use a proprietary design to lace to the rim itself. You need the exact same rim replacement. Any LBS should be able to order that rim, if it's still available from shimano direct.

Unless you are really in love with them I wouldn't bother. Have a conventional wheel built or build it yourself. Most of these oddball spoke patterns and low spoke count wheels are hype and not very durable.

I believe shimano still has replacements. But its really not worth it.

It *is*a dura ace wheelset guys. Not some generic piece of crap open pro on some hub.

Probably cheaper to buy another complete WH-7700 wheel on ebay & sell your problem to someone else.
Shimano doesn't list it as a part (so no part #) in it's exploded drawings. If the LBS can order a replacement, I'd like to know how.

This is why i'm staring at a list of our distributors and a list for each company, their rep and their phone #.
Thanks guys - I've got a call into the LBS who's checking with Shimano to see if they have any left, and if so how much it costs.
These aren't great wheels though, and my guess is the rims aren't cheap. I'll probably just trash 'em or try to sell them on craigslist/ebay to someone who wants hubs or spokes.
