Would like to buy a pair of Tektro Mini-vs for my new SS build. I found them cheap on the internet at JensoUSA but it's listed as rear brake in the description. They don't even offer a front brake version there so I was wondering if there really is a difference between front and rear for Mini-v's or are they the same brake? I guess what I need to know is can I order (2) of these brakes or do I need to hunt for a front version too? Thanks.

You can use them in the front. Just remember to reverse the pads.
Also, the noodles may be front or rear specific....but that's mostly length and degree of bend, they can be easily altered.

Cable length will be part of the front/rear designation as well.

I've yet to see brakes come with cables, other than cantis that require a straddle cable.

That's pretty much what I was pointing to. New sets of course are normally caliper kits and that's as good as it gets. I don't normally buy used, but I'm sure ebay or cl would sport lever to caliper kits, in which case all but the cables would be two of each.

i think most canti's are reversible when i bought my avid shorties they only came one way, and it works front/rear

Can you alter vee noodles by hand (or mechanical?) bending, or is it only possible to swap them?
