Welp, just finished her off today with some Fizik bar tape. I bought the frame over a month ago and acquired some of the parts over the last few weeks and borrowed some from another bike.
Hope ya like:

2010 Specialized Langster Steel in Red/Chrome (54cm)
Mavic CXP-22 wheels/Formula hubs
Continental Ultra Gatorskin tires (700x23)
Dura Ace cog/lock ring (16t)
Sugino Messenger cranks
TA Specialites Track chain ring (47t)
Sugino Messenger bottom bracket
MKS Sylvan Lite pedals
All City double toe clips
Wellgo double straps
Selle San Marco Regal saddle
Nitto S-65 Crystal seatpost
Nitto Dynamic stem (100mm)
Nitto RB-021 Stainless Steel handlebars (38cm)
Tange headset
Shimano 1/8" chain
Fizik Microtex bar tape
The wheelset and crankset were from another bike, other than that everything is new. Next part to be replaced are the pedals and staps, not sure what I'll get, than come spring a new wheelset and eventually, new cranks.
Others have observed how crummy the 'chrome' fork looks, and I'll have to agree. The crown is really grainy and it just looks cheap overall. I'll be replacing it with a Soma chrome fork ASAP.
It isn't the lightest bike, but that's what I'd expect form a Reynolds 520 frame. I'm sure I could lose some weight in the wheels, but that'll have to wait a few months.
All the Nitto bits are really beautiful. The stainless steel bullhorn's are the nicest handlebars I've ever seen (notice the polished over bar ends). I should have got some pictures before I taped them up.
Overall I'm pleased with how everything came out. There's a tun of snow outside and it looks like things will stay like this for some time. All I want to do is ride this sucker but I think I'll be waiting a few months before that.
Thanks for lookin', except nicer pictures in a few days.

Is it really worth changing out the fork? You really won't be upgrading... and I don't see it adding value in any way.

Well, the only info that Specialized provides about the fork is that it's "Specialized Steel". The thing could be hi-ten for all I know. If it was made out of any sort of decent tubing, I think they would have made it known (It was actually slotted to have a matching cro-mo flat crowned fork but I'm assuming they had to cut costs and had to settle with this one). It's also just ugly as hell. Like real ugly. The crown is really grainy, and it looks like it wasn't really lugged. Like fake lugs. And where the lugs meet the tubes is all grainy looking as well.
As I see it, the Soma chrome fork is a decent fork that I could use for other builds as well (I really like chrome forks), so it wouldn't meet a waste at all.

I don't think weight is really on anybody's mind who buys a bike like this.

those bars look heavy.
Can you elaborate on this a bit? Do you think the extra bar-tape is weighing this bike down?
Great build, very classic.

The seatpost binder bolt looks like it weighs a ton too.

I would be more concerned about the weight of the chrome on the fork. If you sandblast the whole frame you could easily make up for the seatpost bolt.

I hope it's known that I was kidding about the seatpost binder bolt. It's the long presta valve in front that's really weighing that thing down!

No, that heavy valve is necessary to increase the centrifugal force of the front wheel when you're going fast to stabilise the weight distribution.

I actually don't fancy the black seat binder bolt, it should be silver to match the rest of the bike.
do want. how much did it run you?

Yes exactly! I have a few hanging around but none are the right size. I'll hafta pick one up from the LBS; I always feel silly asking for that type of stuff though.

Change the fork. I changed mine to a Soma lugged fork and even though I didnt weight the two, I swear the Soma fork was about half the weight and much better looking.
Looks alot like mine with much of the same build.

Well done. What is it that you don't like about that wheelset? Personally I think they do an amazing job of looking modern and classic at the same time.

Yeah I'm definitely switching it out for the Soma. Do you remember what stearer tube length you got the fork in?

Oh man...don't start bagging on straightedge kids and telling them that they "need" to start drinking or whatever. I'm certain that wasn't your intention but that's a whole other can of worms not intended for Bike Forums. I was straightedge for a long time and looking back it was a positive, important time in my life.

I grew up in Natick but am currently attending UMass Amherst.

I bought mine from BTI through our shop account. They only had 1 size in stock and that was the super long one. I have the tools to cut and re thread so thats what I did. Wish I remembered the length but I ended up trading that bike for a almost complete Campy Record equipped Pinarello Pista so I no longer have the Specialized.
