Hi I'm looking for a club/team to join for this upcoming year for my first time I live near Sacramento and Davis, and was wondering if anyone is in one or has recommendations of one to join.

Davis Bike Club. ;)

I joined recently (for racing) and I'm very impressed with the organization. Lot's of good rides/people/resources.

This is my 2nd year of racing. I'll be a Cat 4 in a week. Anyone can join the race team ($20 extra)... but you missed the kit order. There's another order in Feb. What kind of rides are you looking for? DBC has them all.

I'm looking to start racing, so for new years I decided to look for team. I am also looking for a group/team with people around 20, hence my age group. thanks

Do you have any group riding experience? That's the first step. Get comfortable in the pack. Then, I'd say just enter a race. If you can get down to Freemont on Sundays the Early Bird Crit Series is great for beginners. The first clinic/race was yesterday, and they go on through the end of the month.

Don't get caught up in age groups... you will learn a lot more from the older folks and you'll be suprised how fast they are.

I'm just East of Sac and ride a fair bit, but can't off you advice on teams as I don't race.

Join Davis Bike Club! I'm 26 and it would be nice to have some more young people on DBC. There's a lot of cross riding between DBC and the UC Davis Aggies Cycling team so there are lots of opportunities to ride with people of the same age. I'm just starting racing too (sort of). I did couple races last year, got dropped then had to plan a wedding so this year will be racing season 2.0. Davis Bike Club is great for a beginning racer with the depth of knowledge available. Once the time change happens, there's a weekly skills ride specifically targeted to teach new racers the needed skills leb by a couple of the most experienced riders on the team.

Hey rydaddy, glad to see you sporting the the Orange an blue this year but will miss the announcer go "there goes team 'NorCal'!"

For serious. I ride regularly with two guys in their 60s, and once had my ass kicked by a guy in his 70s :o

Davis Bike Club. Tons of big rides, tons of support. The race team is regular, juniors, masters, and UC Davis. Lots of fun rides. Just google it and you'll find everything. http://www.davisbikeclub.org/ is the site, and there should be a membership app in there. If you're interested in attending, the membership meeting is next Monday, the 11th.

There are a few crazy fast 'old guys' at Prairie City that start 30-60 seconds behind me and still pass me by lap 2.
