Bicycle Mechanics - Suspension Seatpost - Confused about warning sticker

I recently bought a cheap suspension seatpost and I'm confused about a warning sticker on it. Its located on the end that goes into the frame. It reads "Nut threads must be fully engaged". The seatpost didn't come with a manual, so I have no idea what this means. Does anyone know?

Usually there is a cap of some sort that threads onto the post. That must be secure.

Suspension seat posts have an internal spring that needs to be set to the weight of the rider so that when they sit on the saddle the post slightly sags a little. If it sags too much the rider will bottom out the post suspension and the result will be a jarring end to the dip. On the other hand if it is set too harshly then a light rider won't gain any suspension.

This adjustment is typically made with a nut or screw in the end of the post that goes into the frame. Your note is a warning to ensure that this nut is not adjusted so far off the pretension stud that there is only a thread or two holding things together.
