Like many, I had problems with Shimano's slick new EZ-link.
But has anyone tried the Dura Ace 7900 chain with the old 7800 pins?
If so, how's it workin' out?

Shimano has already reverted to the pin method. It works fine. We stopped using the quicklinks on our customers bike because of complaints about clicking noises coming from said link.

Thanks! Do they require a 'new improved' 7900 pin, or can we use the old 7800 pin?
(I've got about 40 of those little suckers saved up in my little tool drawer.)
Same pins work. Make sure they are 10-speed pins. The ones that work have either two or three grooves (both are OK).

The CN-7900 techdoc only lists the 2 groove one as compatible.

THANKS! Good poop!
Guess I'll stick with the 7900 pin until the chain's plumb wore-out, then break the chain and try a 7800 pin for a hundred miles or so to see if there's any problem.
Many thanks gents! http://i.pbase.com/o3/78/49878/1/88692656.E5MK4guc.notworthy.gif
