What do you guys think? I know nothing about Marin. I know Shimano Deore is good, but I don't know anything about the fork either(this would be my first front suspension bike). What do you guys think? Also, I'm 5'll and ride an 18" frame now. Do you think a "large" will fit well? If it's worth it, I'll make the trip and check the sizing before I buy it. I don't want to waste too much time driving there and back if it isn't worth it or the fit will be way off. Thanks.

I'm your height and I also ride 18" in an XC hardtail frame. As far as bike companies that go by small, medium, large, etc., most of the time I fit a size Large, but occasionally it's size Medium that's right for me. You can't know without trying it out. Actually, you can know if you go to Marin's site and compare frame geometry to yours. You might have to convert inches to metric or vice versa. I'll leave that task to you.

As far as it being a good deal, I'd say if it was barely used and $100 cheaper it would be a good deal.
I like the fork. Heavy, but solid. Good luck.

that looks like a pretty stout price. Google the bike and look at the REI website. REI sells the Marin line. If the bike is pristine, its probably worth it. But on Craigslist you shouldn't pay more than 60% of retail. Also check out

Hmmmmmmm, I guess that since the Eldridge hasn't been made since 2008 that this bike might be more than a few months old.

Thanks guys, that's the info I'm looking for. I did my best to search, but came up with quite a variety of Marin Eldridge hits. Most were different component groups but had a price tag around $1k. You guys don't seem so keen on this one, so I think I'll pass. Thanks.

That is a good decision as you can do a lot better for the price! Especially for an aluminum frame. Are you a new rider? Are you looking for a geared bike or a single speed?
