Foo - Earth 2100 on The History Channel

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If you havn't seen it you should, it's really good no matter what you think about the future.

You mean on the Tinfoil Hat Channel? They've even taken to recycling Von Daniken's old, discredited drivel.
I can hardly wait until 2013, so I don't have to watch all their crap about Nostradamus, Mother Shipley, and the Mayans.

The mysteriously free cable stopped when the local company went digital. I thought I was going to miss the History Channel, but in retrospect, they've stopped playing nearly everything interesting. Every now and then they play a new Modern Marvels, but they replay it about 20 times, and never mix it up with reruns of their classics. The Dogfight 360 show was actually very entertaining, especially since they mixed in interviews with the pilots, but one hour of new, interesting programming per week isn't much, and it's appeal is mostly the spectacle rather than information that orients the viewer to a historical context. The Universe was ok, but mostly about visuals and not very detailed. Those few interesting programs they show kept getting shoved out of prime time in favor of the Nostradamus crap.
In the end, despite being a complete history and science nerd, I ended up missing Alton Brown's Good Eats on the Food channel more than the History Channel.
I hope this program broke the trend, but did they touch on what sort of crap the History Channel will be showing in the year 2100?

Speculation on the future just isn't history in my book.

I think the proper response is "It will be."

when I don't want to watch something I just change the channel. Anyways I thought it was great, (like "Life After People) I just posted it for those who were interested.

I tease, because when we do watch television (which aside from sports isn't all that much), it often is THC. A good portion of it is interesting, but they've been going overboard on the 2012/Nostradamus stuff as of late. Between that and all the reruns...

tis' true, but all they're doing is what everyone else dose, trying to make money (ratings) of off a popular movie of the time.

I only saw part of it, and it looked good. I get to wondering about things like that when I'm out riding around.
