Kind of a misleading thread title. I know very well what a rear triangle is. However, I have a 1999 Schwinn Peloton frame with a main triangle of Reynold's 853. Anyone know what the rear triangle is? 531? 520? 853? Cannot find this even with a basic Google search. Thanks. :)
This will be a guess but since 531 is no longer in production that would led only the 520 and the 853, most rear triangles on road bikes using 853 on the main frame used 520 on the rear tri. If your Peloton is the Pro series then they could have in 1999 still had some 531 tubing left to make the rear tri with. I could be wrong with this part, but I don't believe any company is using 853 on the rear tri.
Sorry I can't pinpoint it exactly, but I wouldn't worry about it; you have a great bike that Schwinn overbuilt and underpriced
