I have narrowed down my choice of bike to the Jamis Aurora. Would you choose 2009 or 2010 and why?

Price at bike shop isn't enough to make a difference.

Really boils down to color and price. They are in all sense the same bike as far as spec's. It would be as simple for me that I like Blue.

You will be happy with either in my opinion. Might want to go with the less expensive and upgrade the cranset to something a little more mountain friendly. If you live in the lowlands.... Might not be an issue.

I agree with kyakdiver -- get one with the color you like best. I really like the Auroras, and their geometry is perfect for me. I tried to order a frame from them, but they only sell complete bikes for some reason. I am surprised by their weight, however. Their specs list the weight as 27.5 lbs. My Bob Jackson World Tour weighed about 22 lbs when built up, including pedals, cages, front rack. Perhaps it's mostly due to components, as my bike has mostly Dura-Ace and Ultegra parts and lighter wheels (Open Pros).

I'd have to guess that has something to do with it ;) Nice bike by the way.

My Co-Motion Americano in a 60cm size weighs around 31# including front and rear racks. 27.5 sounds right to me.

The Jamis Aurora Elite weighs about 23 lbs for a 2009. I think that the 2010 elite would be a little heavier since it now has disc brakes fenders and rear rack

Agreed that there isn't much difference between the two years. Buy the best price/personal preference.

The Aurora is a great all-rounder. I bought a '09 Elite last summer and love it. Was still in the 'breaking in' phase before the long winter sleep.
