Topeak trunk bags have nice soft padding and can be divided into compartments to keep equipment from shifting around. I have an older version with separate rain cover but I think they make a waterproof one now. Another advantage if you use their rack is the quick release slide off feature to easily take your expensive equipment with you.

I don't think they list prices in that catalog. You will have to Google Pacific Outdoors Boot or something like that.

if the rack pack doesn't have much cushion you can get plenty from a thermarest Sportseat put inside it.
