Bicycle Mechanics - Whats the best cycle maintenance book and?

What about videos too?

I've tried a few basic books and the net of coarse. But I think there's something nice having one place to rely on mostly.

What books and/or DVD's would you recommend?

Park Tools' Blue Book.
As far as the videos, I don't think any DVD will ever be able to compete with Youtube and a clever application of search terms.

The Zinn & The Art of Road/Mountain Bike Maintenance books and the Park Big Blue Book are mentioned often. I have both (Mtn. for the Zinn). I like the pictures in the Park book (vol. 2) better than the illustrations in the Zinn book. The Park book really isn't all that "Big" and is about half as thick as the Zinn book, and the pages are about 75% of the size too. If you want to be carrying a book around a lot I'd go with the Park book, though the Zinn book does get more in-depth. The Zinn book doesn't cover IGH, however - the Park book has a little on it.

I like the Zinn book myself.
If you look on the internet you can find BARNETT'S MANUAL for free download. I got the complete 5th edition for free a year or two ago.

The latest edition is as up to date as possible, great illustrations and easy to follow, step-by-step instructions for... everything. Lots of appendices with tables, charts and references.

The best resource isn't a book or DVD at all.
