Hello, everyone.

Saw a television show that had a segment on bicycle messengers. I love cycling, in ANY shape, form, or fashion. I'll ride any kind of bike, in any situation. I've had previous thoughts of seeking a position as a messenger. Just wondering what it's like? You know, day-to-day stuff (schedule, routine, etc...). One of my concerns is whether or not I would get burned out. I'm currently in the military, and plan on going to school when I get out. Would I be able to balance a courier job and college? Anybody out there work part time? If anyone could give me info/advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey Spike

I was a messenger in Canada for three years. Most companies up here are willing to put ya on part time. Be prepared to eat like a horse because your metabolism is gonna shoot through the roof, I was 120lbs the day I left. There is no schedule or routine(unless you get a time call). You basically ride around in circles all day long. My advise is ride at your own pace and dont go for the hourly wage krap. Oh, and watch out for the road rage.
