Yeah, I know…

No Cycling Lanes, too many cars on the streets and even more on the pavements, blah, blah…

Still we survive somehow…

And since we do, maybe we should get together, us survivors and be a team!!!

I propose that a cycling club is formed or any other form of group activity and that we share some common thoughts. We may also express ourselves and demand what we deserve. We did pay some VAT to the State when buying a bike did we not?

If interested, express your proposal here.

Anyone else who wishes to support/ help/ talk to us is very welcome!!!

Two years ago we rented a car for a whole week.. We drove from the Peleponnese to the tip of Evia.. Only twice Did a see any trace of cycling or cyclists... The roads about the Peloponnese were scary... Best evidence of a cycling infrastructure was to be found around Delphi.. Climb the hill up to Delphi from the west, is my recommendation.. The road was wide and with a decent shoulder. and the view amazing.. Biking in Greece. That is where I would head should I take a bike trip to Greece. Getting about Athens.. Use the subway, it's impossible...

I'm there -- and i'd even say there's a lot of great cycling in/around Athens (from the little i've seen)

-Head down from Glyfada to Sounio
-Up Ymittos, back down -- repeat
-Pentelli, same as above
-lake marathon down to Marathon
-Laps around schinias

I'd love to find a group of expats -- or even locals -- to ride around with

Anyone interested in getting together for cycling in Athens, please PM me... although keep in mind that I'm a newbie (born again cyclist; lol) Clydesdale ex-pat.
