Is there anything tougher than Slayer?
Just had this conversation last night.
Came to the conclusion that Slayer is the
toughest!

Bad Brains are WAY tougher.

Jamacian music turned speedcore, NY's fastest hardcore band. Used sharp skinheads for security during the violent punk years to deal with racist skins.

Tuff, and full of JAH love.

Slayer need to soak in a tenderizing marinade for @ least 2 hours before broiling.

P.s...I believe the 'Soul Brains' have released...Finally.

John Zorn-Naked City-Torture Garden.

Oh, i'm sure they are just scrawny wimps, but they sure SOUND tough.

My favorite song title EVER is a J.Zorn.

His reply to the first album being panned was to write a 2 min song featuring over 30 different music styles played one after another in the same key, no breaks.

The title is..."The perfume of a critics burning flesh."

YAAAA!!!!

A long time ago a friend talked me into going to see Gwar at a local club (I was soooo uninterested). Anyway, they bring this giant penis on stage and spray white stuff all over everybody...

That is NOT tough...

And when I wake up in the morning
My mouth's all parched and dry, parched and dry
And I crawl to the refrigerator
And I peek inside
And I feel like somebody drove nails
Into my head and eyes
And I'm hoping and I'm praying
I hope there's one more beer

John Zorn-Naked City-Torture Garden.

Nice call. Long as we're throwing some Zorn around, Painkiller systematically refiles the Slayer oeuvre under "Easy Listening".

46x17
08-12-04, 03:02 PM
True about Zorn. Did not think of him yesterday. Also, the second (and only the second) Mr. Bungle album is very tough. I think Gwar are clowns, but I agree they do have very cool shows.

this thread is getting moved to music, obviously, so i'll throw in my two cents.

Classic debate amongst our group of friends. Who would win in a barfight -- Henry Rollins or Glen Danzig?
I vote Rollins, so long as its the pre-spoken word/nice guy Rollins. Lots of rage there.

I figured if they were listening to Arkangel, you probably had them tied up in your bedroom with headphones taped to their heads :D .

Oh,....yes I'm a parent.

Download- Butthole Surfers-Sweat Loaf, from the album 'Locust Abortion Tech' A very scary version of Black Sabbath's sweat leaf.

Way better than coffee to wake up with @7 am.

i'm listening to pantera right now. i just got my nice computer back up and running after a three or four week down period. it has my nice sound card, my nice video card and win2k.

nothing like an audigy2 card, an ATi card and an 850mhz processor after some POS compaq from '99, running win98. mmm....1280x1040 resolution....crisp sound, crisp video....

It's the same for a lot of early industrial. I have, in true and utter fact, listened to halo 0. (Those of you who know NIN know what I mean. I don't have a copy - don't ask) and it's pretty much the same sheit.... I also like the fact that Pigface put the author for 'suck' on one of their albums as 'whatever Trent says. Really.'

I think that a lot of the early industrial grew out of pop music - people learning what they could do with synthisisers and sequencers. Then they discovered sequncing industrial noise. Then they learned that heavy metal guitar players could play to it, and the music changed.

I really like the fact that Pigface has an albut that lists a camera 'player' - think it's GUB... He's not really recording the session, he's playing an instrument. The clicks are the meter...

Along those lines, Tchung list a shotgun player. I really want to see one of their shows if they're still around. Earth first band that can't play indoors because they have too much fire!

And anyone using sheet metal as an instrument trumps slayer. Any day, any where, any how.

Nuf said.
