Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Looks like someone needs a better web server.
But what happened, did they source some drugs from the Chinese, or what?

Really not sure...the original article that had a blurb about it (and a link to that main site) said something about moldy smells.
Looks like someone needs a better web server.

"Based on this investigation, McNeil Consumer Healthcare has determined that the reported uncharacteristic smell is caused by the presence of trace amounts of a chemical called 2,4,6-tribromoanisole (TBA). This can result from the breakdown of a chemical that is sometimes applied to wood that is used to build wood pallets that transport and store product packaging materials."
2,4,6-TBA is a fungicide used in commercial lumber and cork treatment. I don't know how the stuff would have gotten inside the bottles, though. External boxes, sure: Those are often just cartoned, stacked and pallet-wrapped. But cotton batting, bottles and lids should be packed in secondary sealed containment and only opened away from the pallets. Even foil laminate rolls used for sealing bottles are shipped in secondary plastic wrapping. Wooden pallets should never be in a clean manufacturing area.
My version.
Line worker at McNeil via text:
"Hey boss, we are switching to the new formula on the drug line, right?"
BOSS via text:
"Last I read the new formula was TBA still"
Worker adds TBA to all the forumals production schedules and now we all are safe from wood fungus as well as headaches, etc. The miracle of modern medicine is amazing.

Well, if the tylenol my wife were taking smelled funny, she would have noticed it... she is a nurse and all. Oh, and we bought it about a year or so ago.

I got Tylenol that is on the list. The number it says to contact doesn't work.
