My girlfriend, who doesn't have an account on here yet and so is asking through me (lazy cow) is starting to get into trails with me, and has a question for any of the ladies here with regards to intimate piercings and comfort on the saddle.
What with it being a specific question and me not being in possession of the right.. bits... to be able to give advice, I was wondering if the ladies of BF might have any specific suggestions for minimising discomfort or worse, nasty accidents - and no, taking it out is not the answer she's looking for, I'm afraid :-)

She has a bike, and we're building another for her. She rides. What she doesn't have yet is the piercing, hence the question...

Personally I wouldn't do it. IMO bikes and yeehaw piercings don't do well together. If a tear should happen because of pressure or an accidental fall/hit on the top tube, I would fear infection to be quite high.

So your SO is considering getting some bling "down there" and wants to know if said bling would cause any discomfort, amiright? Perhaps the mythical Women's Forum holds the answer you seek.

But what I wanna know is this: When she brought up the idea of the bling, did either of you wonder what the sensation would be like during...um...initmate cardio workouts?

It depends on what the piercing is, and on her individual anatomy. Mine is located in such a way that I would never notice it. I'd suggest talking to an experienced professional piercer about it; seems like they'd be able to give you a better idea than anyone else. Her choice of what piercing to get should take that into consideration.

Well, now that the issue of picking a Bike Forums member name has been settled...

+ 1 on it depends on what kind of piercing it is. I've never had any issues with mine.

I am guessing that there are plenty of 'normal looking' women that have all forms of decoration by invitation. They just don't *talk* about it.

A piercing down there on the girl (I've played with some and know too much about them) shouldn't be an issue.

If it becomes an issue, stretch the piercing out to the next gauge (surface area = good) and/or change the saddle. Playing with padding and chamois thickness and shape should help, too.

I've never had any problems riding my bike with my piercing, well, none of the painful type at least. But I do have the inverse equipment of a girl.
