Foo - Desk Cable Organizers?

With all the stuff for my computer, there's a rat's nest of cables running behind my desk. They hang down low for my feet to kick them and catch them.

Anyone have any experience or ideas on how to organize the cables?

should have these plastic spiral wraps that you can bundle all cables that go in the same direction to.

buy some storage hooks from there as well, so you can lift the cables up under the desk rather than dangling from it.

typically you want to bundle keyboard, mouse, DVI/VGA and monitor power cord together. And bundle together audio, ethernet and computer power cords.

this stuff is way better than zip ties because it's reusable and allows you to bend your cable bundle without any it kinking

Buy a roll of velcro tape. It's reusable.

Cable ties are great, but they are one use, then into the dump. You can buy cable ties with a release tab but still once you trim then down that's it as far as most second use goes.

You can also use the velco tape to ties cables on your bike, to hold a flash light on your helmet, and to snug your pants leg so it won't get caught in the chain. Lotsa other house hold uses. Velco makes great handcuffs for bedtime use. And I heard Word Biker uses it for cock rings.

I stuff all the cables in a brown paper bag and stuff it in a far corner. It's pretty inconspicuous. For the holidays you can use a gift bag.

or, there's always duct tape.

and it comes in colors too!!!!! My sons use duct tape, electrical tape and masking tape to decorate all manner of things, from Razor scooters to toys , to our dogs.............

Both of these (variations on a theme) are solutions that have worked well for me. Then again, going wireless works pretty well too.

I zip tie my cables together based on what they are running from. Works for me.
