I somehow managed to strip the thread while putting my right shifter back on the handlebar. So I can't tighten it and it moves around. Any ideas for a workaround? I looked for some used ones without luck and a new set is $120 :(

Since it's shot anyway, should I just force a larger bolt in it? Not possible to drill through to put a nut on the other side.

Can you tap it for the next bolt size up, say M6 in place of M5? If you can't drill all the way through to put a nut on the other end, that's about the only fix I can think of.
