Hi there cyclists
I bought a Seven Odonata 12 months ago and it is the finest bike I ever owned. The tubes are all custom butted for my body weight, dimensions and riding style. Really good handling, a comfortable ride, great for climbing and stiff enough to get a decent sprint. Yes I'm very pleased with it! Recently I got a set of Zipp 202s for some sunny mountain days in Europe. Nice wheels, though the finish on the rims was not up to the standard of the rest of my components. Big deal. I guess that they more than make up for that with their technical supremacy. Maybe one day I'll get a pair of Reynolds K.o.M. carbon wheels, but they are a bit expensive on this side of the Atlantic! (I live in England)
I'd like to hear from anyone who is a Seven owner, or anyone else who is interested in Sevens. I tried to organize a discussion group on MSN for British Seven owners, but there do not seem to be enough cyclists in Britain that own these bikes or have enough interest to post any threads.
Recently I got the idea to reverse my Campag Record cables so that both the brakes and gear controls would be on the opposite side of the bars to how they were originally fitted. (In England the front brake control is the right lever). This is just for the purpose of making the cable routing tidier as it goes from the handlebars past the headtube. Does anyone know if the gears can be changed over in this way? I know that the brake cable change is straight forward, but I'm not so sure about the gear shifters.
Regards, Cliff
