Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Buy New HardRock or This bike off eBay???

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Thinking of getting a mtn bike style bike for riding with young son on paved paths and light trail use. Any positives or negatives on the used bike (link below)? This size should work based on past experience. Would you buy this road bike or go for a Spec Hardrock Sport 2009/2010?

Buy a new one. The original price on the 2004 Hardrock XC was $290. If you go with the buy it now price, the bike would be $150 + $70 shipping or $220. That's way too much for a 5 year old bike that was a low end bike to begin with.
