Hey, ok I'm totally bummed!

Long version of the story Condensed as follows:
Came home one day, Wife said "were having twins" Later I feaked out, swore a lot.. I work in construction, so, I mean ALOT!!
go forward 8 months, twins arrive, had to buy a minivan, we already had two kids, (spend every last cent, Im not going into debt for a vehicle at this time)
This minivan being the base model did not have roof racks, but dealer said "no problem" (BS BTW)

Finally after long hours of complaining dealer agrees to install after market roof rack, able to cary "ski box" and a bicycle, in his words, thats only "50 or 60 lbs, piece of cake"

Dealer has the ability to find the only roof top carrier with a 75lb weight limit, so flimsy I couldnt put my bike on it!!

So here I sit, unable to ride my bike while on vacation!

So could you guys please put in a few extra miles for me these two weeks?

Thanks,

Scoob!

I bought a Saris Bones carrier for my minivan, this one with the factory roof rack. I wouldn't trust the roof rack with anything.

With one bike on the carrier the rear lifts easily, with two bikes I have to struggle to open the rear.

You should kiss your wife's ass every single day. Buy her some flowers.

Scoob, I don't work in construction but that was my reaction to that little bombshell ( ) , too.... ;)

Sorry you don't have your bike, I'll put some miles down for ya.

There is always the option of a hitch rack as well. I am looking into that option for my mninivan. BTW if I yank the wheels off and turn the handlebars sideways I can put my bike upside down in the space between the back seat and the hatch nicely. Don't know if you have tried that or not.
