I had been posting in various threads by people looking for new entry level bike and recommending the bike I'm on since I've been very satisfied with it.
I've just been tossing out there "Fuji Finest" (*not* the AL version). Mine's steel and it's been a solid workhorse.
I just checked the fuji website and it appears that this year's model has an aluminum fork. I wanted to get this out to y'all cuz my recommendation of last year's model is not an apples-to-apples comparison/recommendation for 2004.
How much extra road noise gets transmitted thru the aluminum fork, I don't know.
But there yas go. Sorry if I mislead anyone.
PS: I suppose that's why the Finest "steel" is now sell under $400?
