Hi there cyclists,

Anyone have much experience with Zipp wheels ?
Do any of you own 202s and if so - what do you think of them? Anybody experience any problems?

Cliff, i know many people who ride zipps. 303 and 404's. 202's are very nice light wheels but you probably wont get away with riding them as everyday wheels. They are way to light to be taking beatings riding every day or other day. Those should be climbing or racing wheels. 303's are more in the picture for everyday. Hope this helps. get other opinions. Good Luck. - NLS

like NIKEliveSTRONG i know people who ride the 303's and 404's that love them. the only complaint ive ever read about them was with the clincher 404's on very long decents where the rims were heating up enough to warp the carbon. i dont know if this was true or not and dont really remember where i read it.

Hi and thanks for the replies to my thread.
I imagine a few riders may get some problem with alloy rimmed carbon wheels on long high speed descents. Zipp make special thermal conducting brake pads with some type of fibre in them that take a lot of heat out of the wheel rims.

I "race" with a pair of Zipp 303. They are light. They are fast. These wheels do not hold you back. However, they are not your everyday training wheels. THey are expensive.

Don't spend over a grand on a carbon clincher (no weight saving there). Get tubular if you must. Otherwise, a pair of Kysrium SL would do just fine and cheaper and easier to maintain.
