In Miami I think the Bacardi building is interesting

http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa32/stonecrd/BacardiBuilding2web.jpg

When I lived in Chicago I loved walking around downtown a lot of interesting buildings; Wrigley, Marshall Fields and went to school at IIT for awhile which was done by Mies van der Rohe.

http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa32/stonecrd/IIT.jpg

The SC Johnson Co campus was originally done by Frank Lloyd Wright and is really cool it is in Racine WI.

http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa32/stonecrd/scja1.jpg

Also loved to stop by the Bahai temple in Evanston IL

Watched a program once about the SC Johnson place. Apparently it leaks like a sieve.

The louvre's glass pyramid that is the "new" front entrance to the building. It's an amazing mix of old and new. What's really amazing is the amount of additional museum space that is under the courtyard and has been added since the construction of the original building (former palace).

The Frederic C. Hamilton building, part of the Denver Art Museum.

Just love the way the building slopes. Nevermind that there's so much useless space inside the building...

Scroll down to the Qube. It was the home of West Coast Transmission in Vancouver and was novel as the body was suspended from the center elevator shaft. It isn't big or all that edgy by todays standard, but it was in its day.

...Not a spectacuar building (although it is classically beautiful), or a spectacular photo, this is the Fayetteville Market House in Fayetteville North Carolina. It was built in 1832 and one of its purposes during its lifetime was a market for african slaves. It is very thought provoking when you are standing there.

Greene & Greene houses. The materials used to build the houses are great.

Clinker bricks are warped and burned reject bricks. Here they are used in a retaining wall.

The Ryugyong Hotel in Pyonyang, North Korea, wins my vote for the Ugliest Building In The Universe award. It's so ugly it has a weird kind of beauty, altogether a sinister look. The regime built the structure as a status symbol to glorify the accomplishments of the Dear Leader, but ran out of money years ago before it could be finished. Now it is an abandoned and crumbling shell of substandard concrete towering over the city, with a rotting crane perched precariously on the summit. Nobody knows what to do with it.
