Bicycle Mechanics - 105 shifters broke, well, sort of....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Alright, so heres the deal... The piece that says "105 flightdeck" came loose on my shifter. Its only on the left side of the bike though. I took it to the bike shop and asked if there are any tricks to getting it back in... He gave me a speech on how it must be a design flaw, and told me I should take some super glue and glue it back on. (my bike is from '02, and the new '04 105 shifters have a screw holding the piece on). So, has anybody else had any problems like this? Does this piece just snap back in with a hard push or what?

Thanks,
Rob

The cap snaps into place. underneath the cap is a bracket held on by a screw. The screw has apparently loosened. Look here (http://harriscyclery.net/site/page.cfm?PageID=49&SKU=LD7761) to see what I mean.

Thanks, the whole setup actually fell off on todays ride, so I was able to pry the black inside piece out and get to the screw. Its time for some loctite...

Thanks again!
