Just ask Bill Gates. Or the Facebook programmers. Thanks to the unfathomable FB interface, half of us have no idea where to find our status. Or what that is. Or why Live Feed or News Feed are different. Or why our posts disappear and reappear at random. Or why you can't edit posts. Hey, whatever works for FB. As soon as they figure out to monetize that idiot place they'll all retire as billionaires.

So really, why would they care? Hey, worked for Microsoft. And Yahoo. And a few other companies.

I'm a mac user, but don't be an idiot. The man has helped change the world for the better..

If you can't figure out facebook, you have much bigger issues.. : )

I like pie. Warm pie with a crisp, flaky crust. So warm that it melts the vanilla ice cream you put on the side, and at the end you have that lovely vanilla ice cream/apple filling syrup stuff to lick off the plate. If you could make software that recreates the feeling of just having eaten a slice of apple pie ala mode, then you would be insured riches beyond your wildest imagination.

Geez, Jsharr, I had an overwhelming urge to smoke a post-coital cigarette after that.

You will soon learn that on BF, I am the Head Idiot in Charge.

I am hoping to release a product this year that is definitely questionable software, based on really sketchy software, refined to fit a target market. The thing will probably never work right, and I will become so rich that I will buy pcad's house and saw that pink porch off the back of it, just for kicks.

Methinks you might employ Pcaddette, or anyone under 50, to help you out there.

So what IS the difference between Live Feed or News Feed? Why do some items show up in both?

I've been using Macs since 1984. I run a network of six computers here. At one time I even had a Dell on the network.

FB software is pathetic.

I really can't believe I am going to take the time to answer this, but here goes:

--"half of us have no idea where to find our status:" On your profile. Click on "profile".
--"Or what that is:" It's whatever you want it to be.
--"Or why Live Feed or News Feed are different:" News Feed is highlights based on who you look up most often. Live Feed is everything from everyone. I personally don't understand why there are both, but that is the difference.
--"Or why our posts disappear and reappear at random:" This is extremely rare but I have seen it. Just refresh.
--"Or why you can't edit posts:" Yes, you certainly can edit, delete, or clear your posts, status, comments, etc.

Anyway, the bigger point is that Facebook is FREE. If you don't like it, don't use it? For something that is FREE, it sure seems fine enough for me. I am not sure if comparing the quality of Facebook programming to Microsoft programming works all that well. Then again, I don't complain about stuff that I PAY for, either, so don't mind me...

Live feed posts all of your friend's most recent published activity, chronologically.

News feed publishes select stuff from the last day or so that the Facebook computers think you might be most interested in.

I would buy that. For a whole lot of money.

You want to talk about crappy software start with iPhone applications. 1000s of application that are complete junk but if you make it sound nice show a couple nice screens or put some T&A in it you can sell it for $.99 and make a fortune

This clever as hell, at $.99 no one really cares if what they buy is junk and if you can get 100,000 users to throw $.99 your way well woopii!!

That doesn't let them off the friggin hook. The problem is that 90% of the world has been dealing with Windows so long, they're USED to crappy software.

I'll be in a crankier mood until the Percoset kicks in, so don't F with me until about 2PM. You have been warned.

That tooth extraction today was the Big Ouch.

Those are never fun. Of course, I actually don't know, never having had a cavity or any other tooth work except cleanings in 48+ years of living.

How do you unblock someone. I got a little overzealous going after Farmville and Maffia playing friends of mine. Blocked a friend entirely instead of just her stupid games.

I bet the dentist uses a Mac, and the person who invented Percoset developed it on a PC. :innocent:

I can't believe I know how to do this, but...

Go to the very bottom of your News or Live Feed. Click on "Edit Options" (opposite from "Older posts"). Find the person you want to unblock and remove them from the "Hide" list.

Similar to how programmers are getting sloppy since the resources are getting more powerful, thus making the more power resources a requirement because the programming has become so sloppy?

Not that I know anything--my very highly-paid programming friend once told me that.

ETA: Huh, if you edit your post, it takes it out of poetry mode.
