Hybrid Bicycles - Spec Sirrus Allow Rear Rack and Fenders?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Do any of the Spec Sirrus 2009 or 2010 models have eyelets on the rear for a rear rack and fenders?

Which flat bar bike's allow the most upright riding position as a stock bike?

If look on the Specialized (http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?sid=10Sirrus&eid=4356&menuItemId=12189) website you an see the rack eyelets in the picture. Even the carbon seatstay versions have eyelets in the upper Al section. There is only one eyelet at the bottom so it shares rack and fender duties but that is not a problem.
The Sirrus is one of the sportier hybrid bikes. The riding position from the factory is fairly well balanced for touring style riding, ie bars level or a bit below the saddle. It is not ideal for higher bar positions.
The Globe models are for more sedate, upright riding but its a completely different style of bike.

Yes.

Before I added a rack:

After drop bar conversion, but with a rack:

I can't think of any hybrid that doesn't allow the use of fenders or a rack.

As far as most upright riding position, go to some bike shops and ride a few to find which one gives you the best riding position.

This is an '07; however, the later models are identical.

The only issue on later models is Specialized put a cheaper front derailleur that will impede on the rear fender; however, it's an easy fix just buy a Tiagra, 105, or Ultegra front derailleur.

On extra small frames like mine (47cm XS) depending on what rack you using you will need long rack extenders. (I think mine are 8" but Jannd offers 16" as well.)

As others have pointed out, the geometry on the Sirrus fills a niche somewhere between a classic road bike and a tourer and as Mike Shoup's photos demonstrate the Sirrus when given dropbars works quite well as a classic road bike.:thumb:
