President George W. Bush goes to a primary school to talk with
sixth graders about the war. After his talk he offers question time.
One little boy puts up his hand and George asks him what his name is?
"Billy."
"And what is your question, Billy?"
"I have 3 questions. First, why did the USA invade Iraq without the
support of the UN? Second, why are you President when Al Gore got
more votes? And third, whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden?"
Just then the bell rings for recess. George Bush informs the kiddies that they
will continue after recess.
When they resume George says, "OK, where were we? Oh that's right question time. Who has a question?"
Another little boy puts up his hand. George points him out and asks him what his name
is "Steve"
"And what is your question, Steve?"
"I have 5 questions. First, why did the USA invade Iraq without the
support of the UN? Second, why are you President when Al Gore got
more votes? Third, whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden?
Fourth, why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early? And fifth, what the fnck happened to Billy?"

har har har
It would be better if the vote part wasn't in it though. At least for the few people in this country that know how the voting process is actually supposed to work and why.
I don't blame you, I blame government run schools "Good enough for government work" I guess. While I don't think that Bush should have taken it, it has nothing to do with total nationwide votes, it's only about Florida.
I actually did find it kind of funny, especialy Steves last two questions, but its a bit to heavy and close to reality to be really humorous.(for me at least) Maybe better in the politics forum?

capsicum,
You're over analyzing it. It's joke!
You admitted you found it funny, so I guess it accomplished its intended purpose.

It would have been nice if thousands of black voters (who tend to vote Democratic) were not mistakenly put on the fellon list while only a few Hispanic voters (who tend to vote Republican) were wrongly put on the list. Another interesting tidbit; the company who supplied the fellon list for Florida has ties to the Republican party.
All of the conservative newspapers I read say that GW Bush won Florida any way you count it while liberal newspapers say Gore would have won Florida if the Supreme Court justices GW's daddy put on the court didn't all vote to halt the Florida recount.
Personally I don't know if GW won the election fair and square though it would have been nice if the whole state was recounted to eliminate any doubt either way. I think I have some idea how the voting process is supposed to work in this country and the 2000 presidential election isn't the way it is supposed to work.
