:twitchy: S'my first time on this forum. Look forward to lots of banter in the future. I am 55, got a dodgy left ankle as a result of an accident in the 70's and knackered hips. Been riding for pleasure now for about 6 years but have used bikes as a method of transport ever since i started school. Just now i am riding a Specialized Globe, heavily modified with a 52 42 32 chainset, high rise backsweep cromoly bars, selle smp saddle (best seat in the house), using a panoram v12 to keep track of things and enjoying every mile i do. I try to get in about 100 miles a week but with the weather we have had so far this year , i am not off to a very good start. I am lucky to live in one of the flattest parts of the UK and enjoy the rural roads of the Suffolk countryside at every opportunity. Anyone else out there in my part of the world give me a hoi and see if we can get together one day. Best wishes to all on the forum and cheerio for now ::p

Well hello from across the big pond and welcome.

No doubt Stapfam will be jumping in here soon. He's one of a few very active members from there abouts.

Welcome Psycho...list!
There might be a few on this board that need THAT name! It's a neat place to see what other people call "fun on a bike".

I saw "knackered" and I knew it was British.

Welome anyway.

Some folks around here like hills!! (including Stapfam, from your island)

Strange.

Hello and welcome. I've many fond memories of riding in the South Downs and environs, and I do miss those splendid OS maps! Although a Yank, I spent 8 years cycling in southern England, and i too am a member of the bad knees/knackered hips brigade. Well that's life, innit? Hey-ho and keep peddling!:thumb:

Welcome to the hood. Most all of us have something on the body that is knackered. My dodgy left ankle just got fixed in December.

A lot of men would like to have a 20 something woman....I'd just like to have some 20 something knees.

Just a warning to the rest of you--Suffolk is Flat. Here is another rider that will be averaging 25mph with the tailwinds. Probably about 5 with the headwinds though. And apparantly they have a dry spell in the summer occasionally.

Welcome to the forum and just a few points. PIE is very important to our members- All the US seems to have is Apple and Blueberry so hopefully you can help me in enlightening them on the joys of a good coffee- and nourishment on a ride. The other is Pics. Even I want to see how flat Suffolk is and the bike you ride.

I am down near Eastbournes at the eastern end of the South Downs so My speed on rides will be a lot lower than yours. I do occasionally get out for the odd ride north of London so we might meet up sometime.
