Today I found a fromt wheel with a wooden rim the tire that is on it is a piece of rope covered with rubber over I would think aplyed soft than put in a mold cured to the rope it has treads similer to a recap. What aira would it be from. Im going to clean it up and call it wall art. thanks:)

I heard of solid rubber tires, but a rope tire....on a wooden rim??? Must be really old unless it was some sort of board trackie experiment from the past....or something even older like civil war hard times "crudetech".

As I understand it, the "safety bicycle" was actually developed prior to pneumatic bicycle tires. I don't know if your example is necessarily that old, though. There are still various solid tires sold, and people were known to do funky stuff during the depression and WWII if it's anything home-made looking.
