Mountain Biking - Is there a rundown of preventative maintenance to do on a moutain bike somewhere?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've had my fuel ex 8 for almost a couple years now and it feels like it's time to do some loving to it.
So far this is my incomplete list, would someone mind helping me with it?
Clean/adjust the chain/gears
Adjust the brakes, replace front pads maybe, very worn
True the wheels
Bottom bracket cleaning/greasing
Rear/front hub cleaning greasing
Rear suspension linkage greasing
I don't really know what kind of greases to get either...I'm so noob. .......

Other than the HUB regreasing- that list should be done at every ride- Once you have washed it down and checked for all the other things that need attention.
They will not always need replacing but a check of the whole bike after a ride will show the problems that are about to arise. On top of that- any problems that showed up like gears not changing smoothly- brakes not be as effective as normal or making extra noises- Brakes binding in one part of wheel rotation meaning that the wheel is out of true and so on.

Thanks, I think my main goals are the hubs/bottom bracket/suspension linkage
I'm not sure how often to do this as every person varies with how much they ride but at least 1-2x a season would be my guess for the above 3
This bike still feels brand new so there are no problems, I just want to keep it clean/lubricated enough so it stays that way!
I just want to get the greases right..maybe that tool site has that in the step by steps...I forget the website though...

134225The attached excel spreadsheet is something I occassionally refer to. I've also attached a zipped version of the excel file if you make you're own mods.

Check it every ride, but not do. I'd worry about anyone who had to actually true the wheels every ride. Or adjust the brakes. Or cable tension.
After every ride, I clean the bike and lube everything. Then I check the brakes and shifters (I can usually note this during a ride), and make sure all the bolts are tight and bearings are rolling smoothly. Right before the next ride, I check the brakes again.
