So my old Shimano branded bike shoes are about to give up and die one me. No worries though, They have served me faithfully for about 7 or 8 years and I do not feel that they owe me anything. While looking for replacement shoes I was interested in the Shimano branded shoes since these had worked so well but I'm finding much better prices on "Answer" branded SPD shoes. I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with this brand or how well their shoes hold up to the rigors of cycling. I'm all for saving a few dollars if they are just as good but I'd like another pair of shoes that can last me through at least the 2016 presidential election.

Anyone riding or ridden Answer branded mountain/communting shoes?

What did you think of their construction and durability?

Thanks in advance.

These are the shoes in question if that makes a difference.

I use them, but that's all I've ever used so I can't make any kind of comparison. All the Answer's I have ever seen use velcro straps, without laces. I'm not sure, but that may suggest they are better for my more casual riding style.
