In the course of moving both wheels were stolen off my bike. It's a Trek 7100, a couple years old. So far I'm being told that replacing the wheels will cost the same as replacing the bike. (I just found a local bike shop offering a 2003 Trek 7100 for $250, which is almost exactly what I've been quoted for the wheels.)

Is there any way to find cheap/used wheels in Chicago?

Assuming you've got 135mm rear spacing (my old Trek hybrid did), these will work:

Damn! $ 240 for a pair of 700c Matrix????
I saw a set on Ebay couple of weeks ago going for $ 65 (quite possible yours :D )

Seriously check this bike place up north on Broadway (underneath readline tracks) they have a bunch of
used stuff at great price.
