I got in a good 100 k ride this morning. Left my house at roughly 8:30 and got home just past 11:30. A couple things happened on the ride. I met up with some other roadie all out for their Saturday morning ride and just chatted for a couple seconds at a light. We came up with a plan for solving world hunger and how to bring peace to the world. ;) j/k. I continued on my way and saw several others out on their morning ride. Every one gave a nod of the head or a handlebar wave which was decent. I also ran out of water about 20k's from home. I stopped in at a local Fire Station where the boys were out cutting the lawn. I rode up to one in the garage and asked if I could get some water and he said, "Sure, kitchen's right through the door go in and help yourself." I went in and found another FF washing the floor in the kitchen. He gave me some bottled water and we talked a bit about bikes, fitness and heart rates which invariably had us both wishing we 20 again. :o He bikes 10 miles into work on his MTB. I should mention that I left without my glasses this morning (stupid) and paid for it. Shortly after I left the Fire Station, I got a bug right in my left eye, the little pr*ck hurt so much I had to pull over and get it out. The rest of the ride was uneventful, as I pulled into my drive way tired, and starving.

seems like 100km was the distance of the day as per other posts.

I drove 200km to ride my 100km. I love living near mountains with so many awesome options :D

Glasses are something I'd turn around for.

HA! Pretty good, now. Went down twice in the second week I had 'em. Wife's comment for the one she witnessed was "how's that pavement inspection coming" ;-)

sounds like a good ride. i do find in the mornings u get more waves; especially if u go during the weekday. anyway since you're in t.o. where did you ride? my favourite centuries are going up to lake simcoe, and along lakeshore anywhere from the beaches to burlington. (in other words, along the water or water destinations)

See, that's what it's like when I ride...nothing but good folks, good experiences, people acting like they are happy to be alive. Every once in a while you run into a dick roadie, but mostly...it's all good...that's why I came back to the sport.

Now, if I could keep the dogs off my ass.
