well i have decided to get me a pair of vintage dettos, the question i have is about the size. wear a size 8.5 slip on vans so would a 41 in the dettos be good for me? i really like the old dettos and i hope they will work!:)

Well, not knowing your true shoe size, it's hard to tell. However, my feet are 7.5D, and I'm a very tight fit in a Detto Size 40. Those old Italian cycling shoes tend to run pretty narrow, which makes them tighter if you have wider feet. Offhand, I'd venture a guess that a Detto 41 will be tight on you if your feet are US size 8.5.

They seem to fit similar to modern Sidi's. I wear 45 running shoes and Sidi's, size 44 Detto's fit like a glove with thin socks.

Where can you find Detto's? I'd love to have another pair (US size 10 = 43 or 44 I think).
I wear 8 1/2 wide. Euro sizes tend to run narrow, so I wear 43. But I also tend to wear heavier socks.
