Well last summer i got back into riding after a hiatus reaching to my child hood LOL.
Anyways i was having a blast but in september i started having troubles with pain in my right knee (wich is odd cause all my prior injuries were to the left). I grunted it out a bit and kept riding but it only got worse. So i stoped riding around mid september and figured id start again when my knee healed.
BUT it never did and kept getting worse (im a truck mechanic for a living so i do alot of physical labour and heavy lifting). Now its winter so the bikes put away but my knee had gotten so bad i finnally broke down and went to a doc cause it started really negitivly affecting my work (i HATE DOCTORS). Well turns out i have a torn meniscus. Doc gave me some anti inflamitorys and stuff with a threat of surgery if i dont lay off the heavy lifting (i dont like light duty at work cause i hate paper work i like the grunt work). Anyways i been takin it easy at work (even using all the lifting aids and such LOL) and the pills seem to help immensly with the pain.
BUT i was just wondering if that could have been cause by inproper setup of my bike or if i was just doing something wrong. Figured maybe some of you guys may have had similare probs.
Right now the bike is setup really high so my knees are pretty much streigth on the downstroke of the pedal like the dealer told me but i wonder if i should lower the seat or something.
Just figured id ask now so when springr rolls around i dont reinjure myself on the bike again. I do miss riding though and even the doc said getting on the bike is one of the best things i cold be doing. So i cant wait for spring. Pains going away now so i hopeing i be good by spring. I still young at 26 so i should be (this is the longest i have taken to heal from anything LOL).
