Hey all, new subscriber here.

I was surfing the net trying to see if I could determine what my 2 peugeots were worth when I came across your forum. After reading a few posts, I went out to the garage and looked for some numbers on my bikes. Here's some of what I found, and some info on how I got them.

Bike #1
I was given this used white Peugeot for christmas in 1978. It belonged to my dads boss's son. It has a number stamped into the left rear tire slot, number is 155016. The rear wheel is really smooth and rounded and is a Rigida with the number 60 in a small diamond. It says 27x1 1/4 (H.P , made in france, RIGIDA, chromage superchromix, 19 and then the diamond with the 60 in it. The front wheel was replaced after being taco'd when I was a kid. The rear derailer is a Suntour Honor with Kaeda industries Japan ZA stamped on it. It also has the number 4532 stamped on it and the word(?) STROKEADJ between the hi/lo adjusters.

Bike #2
I picked this white Peugeot up at an auction house in 1998. I dont remember what I paid for it, but it wasn't a lot. This bike has a metal plate under the frame with the number 2750237 stamped on it. It does not have a number on the rear left tire slot. Both RIGIDA wheels on this bike have the number 72 in diamonds stamped on it. The rear derailer is a Simplex.

Anyway, I know you can't put an exact dollar figure on these bikes, based on this info, but it would be nice to know some highs and lows, and if the highs are kinda low, if I should just get them street worthy again and let the kids and grandkids ride them around.

Thx,
Brian & Dava

Very much depends on the model; I would need to see pictures. The second one sounds like a very standard UO8. Value varies based on where you live; here in Richmond, five to twenty five dollars is about what I'd pay. It's likely the rear mech on the first bike is a later replacement; the bike by serial number dates to the sixties; if I could see the decals I could make a more educated guess.

Again, it depends on the model-- the PXs, for instance, are worth substantially more. Post photos; we'll tell you what we can figure out.

hi briandava -
i am also new to the forum. came across it while searching info on a curbside find (which seems to be a '68-69 PX something). you could check here to help find out what your bikes are (or aren't). either way, it's interesting reading if you are into the bikes.
