Hi, here's my first post! :D
I've been reading the postings in the road bike forum for sometimes now. Today I finally overcome my constant laziness to register and post my first thread!
I think this place is the best road bike forum ever! I come back to visit at least twice a day since I first discovered it. I have learned greatly from other people's postings (from how to adjust derailleur, to differences between all kind of frame materials, etc). Which is not bad :p considering I just got my first road bike at LBS about over 1 month ago.
I bought this entry level road bike not long ago (2003, OPUS Fedelio www.opusbikes.com). It's a basic aluminum frame bike with Shimano Sora stuff with toe straps, which is ok since I only paid about 600$ (tax included). I know it's not fancy, but I love it. I ride it almost everyday for about 40km/day.
After reading some very inspirational postings by other members here about their first century ride, I am highly motivated to try it myself... Today, I biked on a slightly windy day on a flat course, and did 102km in about 4h15min. Let's just say I am very proud to just finish it, although it hurts now just to walk. The last 15km or so felt like eternity.......
Gonna go raid my fridge then go take a well-deserved nap.
Cya Guys
p.s. Does it remind you of ur early riding days? :D

Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
