Folding Bikes - Shorter seatpost for shorter Brompton riders?

Hi all,

A colleague of mine got a Brompton with the standard seat post. As she's only just around 5 feet tall (1m50cm), the original seatpost sticks out pretty far at the bottom. It sticks out so far that she can't lift the back and park the bike without first having to raise the saddle.

Has anyone encountered the problem and how would fix this? Is there a custom "extra short" seatpost to be oredered? Or can I just cut it a little shorter at the bottom with a pipe-cutter?

All advice is welcome!:thumb:

Cheers

I would cut the bottom of the seat post, but remember to chamfer the edges.
